episode summary
Star striker and Harchester fan favourite Luke Davenport fears for the worst this week as he realises he may have a rare eye disease that may result in him eventually going completely blind. Luke has always known this was a possibility as his father has suffered from the same and it looks like it could be hereditary. He goes to great lengths to cover this up as to not worry the team, although with heartless reporter Paul Hankin sniffing around that's not going to be easy.
After arriving home with new wife Donna, Clyde tries to settle back into life at Harchester leaving Donna feeling lonely and left out. Its now Curtis' time to suffer a hard time, he is tired of keeping his relationship with Grace a secret in order for her to keep her job, he is stuck in the reserves where he has to face the fact that his football is not as good as it used to be. He goes out and gets very drunk where Donna seems to be doing the same. They both end up at Curtis' and end up in bed together. This does not seem like the first time Donna has done this and so regrets nothing, whereas Curtis can't believe what he has done and feels very guilty.
Ryan has been suffering from very bad dreams about the killing of Steve and one evening reveals all to Curtis who overhears him screaming during one of these dreams. The night before a match Ryan asks Grace to give him some pills to help him sleep peacefully that night. He lies to Grace, telling her that its normal for him to have some when he has trouble sleeping. Grace unwillingly gets him the pills that make Ryan take a turn for the worse due to his operation last season. A doctor is called and when Stuart arrives, Curtis takes the rap for giving Ryan the sleeping pills, resulting in Stuart branding Curtis stupid for taking no interest in Ryan's well being.
Seeing how bad Stuart has treated Curtis, Grace comes clean about the whole thing. Stuart apologises to Curtis and Curtis reveals all about Ryan's dreams and Ryan admits that he killed Steve to his father. How can Stuart look his son in the face again?
fun and viewer review
He was the ticket tout that Ryan sold Clyde's ticket to and later killed to keep it quiet,
