episode summary

After recent events, Stuart decides that it would be best for Ryan to leave Harchester. He puts Ryan's name on the market and within a few hours he receives a good offer from Liverpool. When Luke hears the news that Ryan is on his way to Liverpool he is not happy to say the least. He sees Ryan as the only person he can click with on the pitch and tells Pilar that if Ryan goes, then he goes too. Not wanting arguably the best thing to happen to Harchester to be unhappy, Pilar tells Stuart that the transfer is off. When Stuart threatens to resign however, Pilar goes back on her word, not wanting to lose Stuart.

Meanwhile, Jeff is helping Matt to raise his public awareness in order to win the fans over in the battle for the club. When Jeff hears about Ryans proposed transfer to Liverpool, Matt campaigns to keep the fan favourite at Harchester resulting in more support for Matt. Not wanting to be outdone by Matt, the Boyles campaign against Matt, saying they will get Ryan transferred, then they will replace him with Wayne Rooney! The support for both sides seems evenly split at this moment, that is until Ryan speaks out saying that all he wants to do is play football, and all the speculation about his future is making him feel unsettled.

Eventually the fans are against both Matt and the Boyles and they want Pilar in charge of the club. Matt realises this and he tells the fans that if he gets the club Pilar will stay on as Chief Executive. Jeff is furious and still wants revenge on Pilar over the Mendoza deal from last season so he sides with the Boyles' claim for the club.

Pilar once again tells Stuart that Ryan's transfer is off, telling him the reason being that he is important to Luke's game. Stuart breaks the news to Ryan, Ryan gets very angry and punches Luke. Luke is left not being able to see through his eye problems. Stuart takes Ryan to a clinic where he has time to get himself together, and Stuart resigns as manager of Harchester United.
