episode summary
As Harchester set their sights on bringing in a new goalkeeper, with no transfer budget available, Stuart admits that he has one in mind, the ever-volatile Vivian ‘Jaws' Wright. ‘Jaws' has just finished serving a ban for attacking a player during a game. But this attack was not a sort of two footed tackle or punch up as you may expect – this goalkeeper BITES! His only source of sanity comes when he is around his loving wife, Chelsea. Chelsea seems to know the right buttons to press to control Viv, although no one seems to have him completely under control.
Stuart goes to visit Viv at his home, only to find his wife there alone whilst Viv is out on a run. Stuart talks over a deal with Chelsea, who is now acting as Viv's agent. Chelsea informs Stuart of the signing on fee that would be required to bring Viv to Harchester – which is way out of Harchester's budget. Donna arrives at Viv's house to find him alone and tries her own ‘unique' way of trying to persuade Viv to join Harchester but all that does is infuriate Chelsea who is adamant that Viv won't be joining Harchester.
Stuart is livid with Donna after putting the transfer in danger. He gives her a piece of his mind, telling her that she ever does is cause trouble when trying to help out and her having a say in the club's running is ridiculous. The transfer of Viv takes a turn for the good however, when Luke, who wants to help after he feels he let the club down not saying anything about his eyes, writes a big fat cheque to cover the signing on fee that they need to reel in Viv. Stuart works his persuasion technique on the Wrights and Viv becomes a Harchester player.
Meanwhile, Curtis is still having a hard time, especially with conflict with the team after his affair with team mates wife - Donna. Curtis loses his temper with Clyde and beats him up. After being disgusted by his actions, Curtis decides its time to start a fresh on his life at Harchester and decides to be Baptised on the pitch of Harchester United, leaving him feeling like a new man.
