episode summary
Stuart has hit rock bottom. His playing career is over and his ‘relationship' with Pilar is going nowhere. Stuart makes himself better by venting his frustration on the team, and in particular, Marcel. Stuart refuses to believe doctors' prognosis's indicating that his career as a footballer is over, telling them time and time again that he will be back playing again in a few weeks.
Elsewhere in Harchester, Jeff and Nikki want to keep their sham engagement a secret although Jaws does them no favours when he announces it in front of a packed Studs. Everyone, rather expectedly, is very shocked by this engagement but no more so than Lee. Jaws sees the shoe is on the other foot and continues to wind Lee up during training. He even offers to take Lee, the best man, to do the best mans duties and go pick out some rings. He pulls Clyde aside and tells him that he's driving, despite Clyde being banned from driving – there is little he can do to change Viv's mind, and if that's not bad enough – Jaws steals Stuarts car to do the deed.
As the three of them pull up alongside the jewellers, even Clyde and Lee could not expect what was coming next. Jaws brings out his ‘little bag of tricks' containing a shotgun and balaclava and tells them he will be back in a minute. As he sets off to rob the jewellers Clyde's first idea is for the two of them to flee, but they decide against it as they fear Viv's wrath. As Viv strolls out from the jewellers with two rings in tow, the three of them flee the scene.
As they arrive late for the ceremony, the police also show up looking for Stuart as his car was seen driving away from the scene of the robbery at the jewellers. Stuart gets the police off his back, telling them his car was stolen and that he can't drive anyway due to his injured knee. He's not done with Clyde, Lee and Viv though. He marches all three of them up to the roof of the stadium where Viv takes the rap for it all. Stuart flips and dangles Viv over the edge of the roof before eventually bringing him back in, sending out a message to Viv that he is not to be messed with and in doing so bringing Viv down a peg.
